About The Artist
Maimana Elhassan is a visual artist based in Khartoum, Sudan. She is a self-taught photographer and the founder of Orem Art Club. She leverages on the power of visual storytelling to create awareness, and to educate and inform people about the causes and issues that she is passionate about. Her works have been featured in CNN African Voices, BBC Arabic, “This is Africa” and Andariya Magazine. She considers photography to be a medium of expression and a tool to drive social change.
